|  Le Morris tracteur du 17 livres selon Missing Lynx
Proper tow for the 17 Lbs. Gun

I was recently shocked to hear that the Morris truck contained in the Matchbox/Revell kit is not the proper tow for the 17 lbs. gun - especially with the 11th Armored Division markings. Can anyone here recommend a suitable substitute kit to go with this gun?

The kit vehicle is correct as an Airborne 'cut down' gun tractor.
There are a few options for 17 pdr tractors - Morris or CMP quads, M5 or M9 halftracks and Crusader gun towers.

George, There is a picture of a Sherman (no turret) towing a 17pdr in "British & American Tanks of WW2", while the caption doesn't identify the location it looks very like Italy. I also keep forgetting that the Airborne used the Dodge 3/4 tonner to replace the Morris in time for the Rhine crossings. Alan
