[g]Proper tow for the 17 Lbs. Gun[/g] February 15 2007 at 11:02 PM George Buzby Missing-Lynx members -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was recently shocked to hear that the Morris truck contained in the Matchbox/Revell kit is not the proper tow for the 17 lbs. gun - especially with the 11th Armored Division markings. Can anyone here recommend a suitable substitute kit to go with this gun?
Thanks in advance,
George

The kit vehicle is correct as an Airborne \'cut down\' gun tractor.
There are a few options for 17 pdr tractors - Morris or CMP quads, M5 or M9 halftracks and Crusader gun towers.

George, There is a picture of a Sherman (no turret) towing a 17pdr in "British & American Tanks of WW2", while the caption doesn\'t identify the location it looks very like Italy. I also keep forgetting that the Airborne used the Dodge 3/4 tonner to replace the Morris in time for the Rhine crossings. Alan');"> Le Morris tracteur du 17 livres selon Missing Lynx
