Salut Minitracksiens,

I'm sorry but I'll write this one in english because I would probably mix everything in french..

I've been trying to make my own parts in resin using rubber mold made by me aswell. Sometimes I have dificulty to copy wheels correctly because the resin doesnt reach every detail like bolts and nuts so I think I should vacuum the resin when it is curing on the mold...

How do you do your resin copies?

I would appreciate if you could tell me your little homemade solutions to get good castings because I dont want to use pressure casting nor vacuum chambers because it might be dangerous doing it all alon with no knowledge..

Thanks in advance for your help,

Francisco

maybe your resin isn't enough liquid to go in all the hole of your mold.
What kind of resin do you use?
you have to use polyurethan resin to get good result ( Axson F31 for example....)
otherwise, try to inject slowly in the mold....

I think the vacuum chamber is used to eliminate the air bubbles when the rubber mould sets but this is done BEFORE you pour the mix over the parts.

I know Laurent uses a syringe to inject the resin.

I use polyurethane resin also, 3min curing time. I havent felt the need to vacuum the rubber, I've always had almost perfect molds, my problem is casting really small items...
